Update on proposed Muslim cemetery in Dudley

The Town of Dudley has been asked by the Worcester Islamic Center for permission to purchase land and establish a cemetery in that town. The controversy has been covered extensively in the media recently.

Asima Silva has been requested to bring a Muslim panel to the town of Dudley to make a presentation on the principles of Islam and discuss Islamophobia. The presentation will be given on Thursday, April 28 at the First Congregational Church in Dudley. The event should be covered in the Telegram and Gazette on Friday, April 29.

News about the Greater Worcester League of Women Voters

The League of Women Voters is seeking once again to establish a chapter in Greater Worcester. While the effort is non-partisan, anyone interested in joining efforts to improve government and encourage voters, may become members. Yes, men also are welcome to become members of the LWV. The League is hosting a meeting on Saturday, April 16 at 2 p.m. at the First Unitarian Church on Main Street in Worcester. Sen. Moore will attend and discuss the current issues in the Massachusetts state legislature.
